Chevy recently announced the recipients of its Discover the Unexpected scholarship. They awarded 11 HBCU students with a total of $165,000 in scholarships. The Discover the Unexpected program is a 10-week internship. It is designed to give HBCU students experience in automotive media and journalism. The program is beneficial for students. This year's scholarship recipients will be entering junior roles related to those industries. The scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate passion. They also have shown exceptional academic achievement and leadership potential. This group of students included five working in the media department. It also included six students that had journalism roles at the NNPA. The experience has been enlightening for all. Each student had a unique opportunity to learn about both businesses. For the students, this experience has been a chance to gain first-hand experience. They have been able to work with the media department on several projects. They range from developing social media campaigns to producing videos. They have also had the opportunity to learn about the publishing industry.
