Springfield's annual Birthplace of Route 66 Festival is scheduled to be held this year on August 14-16 at Park Central Square. Now in its fifth year, this celebratory event honoring the famed Route 66 has become a signature three-day festival in the Ozarks. From a full-fledged parade and car show to a 6.6-mile run and nightly concerts, there's a variety of fun activities to take part in throughout the weekend.
